Get Karl Langdon’s best fishing tips at the Engel Aquatank Fishing Stage!

It’s no secret that 4WDriving, camping and fishing go hand-in-hand as some of our favourite pastimes.

The 4WD and Adventure Show is amping up the Engel Aquatank Fishing Stage, with special guests, new stories to share, plenty of tips and travel advice, and new product info.

Plus this year we’ve enlisted the help of well known West Aussie Karl Langdon to head up the Engel Aquatank Fishing Stage at the Show.

Karl has been hosting his own fishing program on 6PR radio for the past 15 years, so he knows a bit about fishing! He says it’s a great time of year for getting out and casting a line, and there’s plenty to catch no matter where you go.

“If you’re heading out on the boat off the WA coast, you’ll be noticing the water temperature getting warmer, and there’s plenty of different species that will be biting,” Karl said.

“Of course it’s crabbing season too, so if you’re in the Peel Harvey region, you’ll be getting out there and catching some crabs for dinner.”

“Or head to Shark Bay – this time of year the pink snapper are like blowfish – plenty for everybody!”

Locally – cast a line in the metro area and you’ll be catching King George Whiting, Herring, Skippies and more,” he said.

Karl said people do need to be mindful that the Demersal Fishing ban is on from mid-October until mid-December, so you need to be mindful that the catching demersal finfish is prohibited within the West Coast bioregion (Kalbarri to Augusta) until December 15.

If you’d like to find out more about fishing in WA – including some of Karl’s best locations to fish – make sure you’re at the Engel Aquatank Fishing Stage. A new location, new presenters and heaps of new info means this is the place to be to talk fishing!
